Dumplings Around the World - Hands On
Dumplings can be found in multiple regions around the world. The concept of stuffing meat, fish, or vegetables into an encapsulating, edible shell, is a global favorite. This class will teach you about three of the most classic variations. We will learn how to assemble the dough, roll out, shape, and cook each dumpling. Each dumpling will be served with a unique dipping sauce and enjoyed by every class member. This class is appropriate for individuals 16 years and older.
- Baozi buns filled with beef and mushroom, Spicy black garlic dipping sauce
- Goyza filled with garlic ginger pork, Sweet chile dipping sauce
- Pierogi filled with sweet potato and raclette, leek sour cream dip
Allergens/Dietary Notice: This class will use the following items meat, gluten, eggs, soy, dairy and mushrooms.
Covid Notice: Please note all classes will be limited to 10 students, tables will be spaced according to guidelines. Gloves and masks will be required for all students.
About Caitlin: Since graduating from Schenectady County Community College culinary program, Caitlin has worked at several area restaurants. She is a former sous chef for the award winning restaurant Yono’s/DP’s An American Brasserie. She has also worked for The Flammerie, Taste, and The Gingerman. Besides the Capital Region, Caitlin has worked at farm to table restaurants in Alaska and Hawaii. She is passionate about locally-sourced cuisine and practicing sustainability in her cooking. Caitlin now works as the head brunch chef at Nighthawks restaurant in downtown Troy.
