The food of Pennsylvania’s beloved Amish Country is an American institution with entire websites and cookbooks dedicated to these recipes. From cookies to relish to pickle eggs, Pennsylvania Dutch cuisine is both delicious and practical, making the best of what’s available. In this class, students will get hands-on experience twisting pretzels and will bring home starter for classic Amish friendship bread while partaking in a menu that includes:
- Buttermilk salad dressing
- Corn soup with rivels
- Pretzels with hot mustard
- Amish friendship bread
- Sauerbraten
- Shoofly Pie
