More than Miso Japanese Cooking

Looking to go beyond sushi? This class is perfect for you! Expand your repertoire of Japanese fare with Yasuo and Kathy, or in-house Asian experts, who will guide you through various ways to use miso, a Japanese staple paste of soybeans and malt. Together, students will learn to make:


- Homemade miso paste


- Nuta sauce (a miso-based dressing)


- Stir-fry with miso


- Miso-marinated hake


- Chicken miso soup

About Yasuo and Kathy: After apprenticing in Tokyo for 12 years, Yasuo Saso came to Albany to invigorate the local sushi scene. He and wife Kathy Saso operated Saso’s Japanese Noodle House, a revered Albany landmark.
