Sushi 101 - Hands-On

Satisfy your sushi cravings by learning the basics of this Japanese art. Students will learn how to make the perfect sushi rice, where to find the best ingredients to make the freshest sushi, how to expertly form and cut perfect sushi rolls, and what condiments to use when preparing and serving. In class, we will make:


- California rolls


- Cucumber rolls


- Smoked salmon


- Asparagus rolls


- Make-your-own rolls

About Yasuo and Kathy: After apprenticing in Tokyo for 12 years, Yasuo Saso came to Albany to invigorate the local sushi scene. He and wife Kathy Saso operated Saso’s Japanese Noodle House, a revered Albany landmark.
